Hi, I’m Fay! Born and raised in Toronto, daughter to two Greek-Canadians, youngest of three, wife, and aunt. I’m a Communications Specialist by day with an ever lasting love for holistic wellness and healthy food!
In my spare time, you’ll find me; making a mess in my kitchen, stretching it out on my yoga mat, exploring local markets, travelling whenever possible, spending time with loved ones, and last but not least sharing all these bits and pieces on my blog!
Having studied media communications in university, I’ve always enjoyed writing creative content and following digital trends. Wellness1st.net is a way for me to bring my passions for communications and healthy living together.
Where my wellness journey began…
I started paying closer attention to my physical and mental health during my undergrad (ten-ish years ago). Many can relate to the heavy pressures of school, work, extra-curricular activities, and trying to have somewhat of a social life. I realized things were getting hectic and by my last year, poor eating, stress, and lack of sleep were really starting to negatively impact my health. In September 2008, a major health event occurred and I realized it was time to make some big/positive health changes.
From there, I began my personal wellness journey. I started making healthier mind-body choices, started paying closer attention to the ingredients I was putting in and on my body, took life in daily strides instead of leaps, and turned my focus to living a positive, proactive lifestyle. With one year left to graduate, I knew I could only get through it if I put my wellness first.
Ten years later i’m still what some may say, “singing the tune.” Adapting cleaner eating habits, being physically active, connecting with nature more often, being mindful, researching… all a working progress for sure. My hope for this blog is to start conversations and inspire others to gain healthy lifestyle habits. I’ll be sharing my wellness journey in fun, simple posts and hope to hear and learn from you too! In the wise words of Helen Keller, “…alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. Got a question? Don’t be shy, email me or connect with me on social media.
